The U.S. Geological Survey projected that about one-quarter of the world’s remaining hydrocarbons are in the Arctic. Norway’s Minister of Petroleum and Energy, Ola Borten Moe says that Norway’s government is focused on the High North and discusses whether there is a legal vacuum resulting in a race for the Arctic between the coastal countries. Borten Moe was speaking at a Northrim Bank Oil and Gas Speaker Series event in November presented by the Alaska World Affairs Council.
